Yes, I'm doing it again! And, this year Karin is doing it too. Apparently it's not a competition?
Yes, we are taking part in Tour de 4 2026, the cycling event launched by Sir Chris Hoy following his Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. It brings together people living with Stage 4 cancer, alongside friends, families and supporters, to ride side by side and raise vital funds.
Sir Chris Hoy is one of my life heroes. Karin brought me his book, All That Matters, for Christmas 2024. I don't really read books but it was finished by the new year. Recommended.
My mother died, aged 61, from lung cancer. My younger sister left us in mid 2017 after a diagnosis earlier that year of bile duct cancer, she didn't quite make her 57th birthday. I could go through the rest of my own family, but hey?
So, want to join us in supporting a good cause?
We're taking part in Sir Chris Hoy's 'Tour De 4' on September 6th 2026 a cycle ride with a 56-mile route that will take cyclists from the Emirates Arena (Glasgow) to the beautiful Campsie Hills, featuring gradients of up to 10% (deep joy). I'm hoping to do The Tak in more style this year!
As previously, I'm raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little. Anything helps.
Support either or both of us but thank you for your support.
