Anahi's dream is to be a dancer

Donation protected
My name is Anahi Orzuza.

I am 8 years old and I love dancing!
I began my dance training at age 3 watching my parents dance Tango (they are professional Tango dancers). My mother taught me Ballet and Modern Dance at age 5 and I danced Tango with my dad. I also took Gymnastics and piano lessons for a year.
My dream is to be a professional Ballet Dancer and then travel the world like my parents did dancing the Tango.
My mom tells me that I dance since I was in her belly. I think that's why I like dancing so much!

Thanks to all the work I did with my mom, now I'm ready to have a Ballet intensive training with the Miami City Ballet School! I recently auditioned and I was accepted!
However, my parents can not afford it and that's why I need your help.

With your generous help I will begin the Summer Intensive Program and will attend the 2018/19 school year. I promise I will work hard and I will make you proud of me!
Thank you!!

My name is Nuria Martinez, Anahi's mom.
With my husband, Armando Orzuza, we are very grateful to have such a beautiful and healthy daughter. We have been very fortunate to be able to provide with such a diverse and high quality dance training so far. As she said, she was always surrounded by dance and music since an early age. We always brought her with us to our classes and performances, except on those cases where kids were not allowed. It would have been much easier for me to leave her with a babysitter at home but in doing so she would never have acquired the natural eye and sensibility she possesses.
When we moved to Florida in March 2015 I started working at Diamond Minds Academy. Tamika Lewis, the school's director, always allowed Anahi to take as many dance classes as possible so I had her in all my modern dance classes. Later, that year, I started teaching Ballet at Miami Fine Arts Academy and Anahi started taking Ballet and piano lessons. The school offered a discounted tuition to us.
In 2016, my friend Merly Bordes, a native-Cuban professional dancer and teacher joined Diamond Minds and gave Ballet and gymnastics lessons to Anahi. During all that time, we home schooled Anahi so she could attend as many dance classes as possible as well as having her with us while we worked.
From May 2016 to June 2017 we worked at the Faena Hotel with a show. This job gave us a steady income as dancers and provided the opportunity for Anahi to train in rhythmic gymnastics with Dennitza Bengston. Anahi then started 1st grade at Central Park Elementary and continued her dance classes at Diamond Minds into the Summer Camp Dance program.
This school year she is my student in Modern Dance at Diamond Minds and in Ballet with Dennitza's team. She is also doing choreography with Merly Bordes.
I was always looking forward for her to turn 8 years old so she could audition for the Miami City Ballet School. I had the idea in my mind that such a school would provide a Ballet program for the gifted at a very low cost since you can only be part of it by audition. The reality is that the tuition is out of our limits, it also requires from us to move closer to South Beach, Miami, since we live in Fort Lauderdale, and our jobs will also be affected due to the relocation. Taking this step means a big financial investment for us and we cannot do it on our own. We will appreciate all contributions and we will keep you updated on Anahi's development.
Thank you!
