1885, Alabama. A forbidden love, an ancient oak, and a secret that refuses to stay buried.
My name is Di Shawn J. Gandy, and I am a storyteller dedicated to exploring the complex, often haunting history of the American landscape. I am currently raising funds to produce 'An American Tree,' a Southern Gothic short film based on my stage play of the same name. After being recognized as a Finalist in the 2024 New York ITC International Theater Script Competition and a NJACT Perry Award nomination, I knew this story needed to be told on a larger scale.
This film is more than just a project; it’s a 'reckoning' with our past. By contributing, you aren't just funding a film—you’re helping an award-nominated creative team bring a vital piece of historical fiction to life. Thank you!
