Hi go fund me family!
Thank you for visiting my page to read my story!

My name is Sarah and I am new to go fund me. I am reaching out to the public to share my story and ask for help. I need assistance with fixing my vehicle, which has turned into a money pit I just cannot keep up with! (Scroll down to see a list of of repairs needed).

But first, allow me to introduce myself and my current dilemma. As I mentioned, my name is Sarah and I was born and raised in Minnesota. I grew up in the twin cities and moved to California after graduating high school. 

I attended University of San Diego where I earned my bachelors degree in architecture with a minor in visual arts.

After undergrad, I planned on going to graduate school to earn a masters degree in architecture. But instead, my life took an unfortunate turn as I fell into using illicit substances and lost my way.

Thankfully, years later I was able to dig myself out of the black hole that was my addiction with the help of God, family and friends who stuck by my side.  But, I lost quite a few things along the way, which why I am currently homeless for the first time by and in between jobs. This is where my vehicle comes into play. 

When I was at rock bottom, a friend wanted to help me get my life back on track and gave me a van to help me do so. This vehicle became my home and served as the catalyst for continued positive change.

I am currently still living in my van, using it to look for a job, and help others with transportation and/or a warm place to lay their head for a night.

The problem is that it has turned into a money pit I just cannot keep up with.
Between getting into an accident & keeping up with general maintenance, I found myself needing financial assistance.

As I said, I am new to go fund me. I knew about this site for a while, but didn’t act on it because I struggle with asking for help. But, as a friend reminded me: a closed mouth doesn’t get fed.  

As we enter a new year, I am making positive changes including asking for help when I need it.

My goal is to raise enough money to fix the following problems with my van and keep up with general maintenance. 

Here is a list of the current problems/repairs:
1. No Back window (of trunk)
2. No Breaks
3. Need new muffler
4. General tune up
5. Windshield wiper(s) [the right one is completely off)
6. Fuses
7. Need someone to put a radio in.
8. Oil change
9. A couple of worn tires
10. Lugs
11. Right external mirror
