Ambulances for Afghanistan
Dear Donor,
Earlier this year I attended a charity event organised by Afghan Charity Week (ACW) where Dr Salman Momin gave an inspiring talk about their free ambulances initiative and the work they do in Afghanistan. ACW work with impactful grassroots organisations to help them scale up and grow.

Understandably, global attention has been diverted away from Afghanistan at present, but I want to highlight the challenges still facing my home country. One of the most needed things in Afghanistan these days is equipped ambulance vehicles. Sadly, more than c.30 million people don’t have access to an ambulance service and there are only 29 public ambulances in the capital Kabul for a population of c.4.5 million.
As little as £10 can help transport 18 patients to the nearest hospital in time. Your donations will be used for:
- Purchasing two vehicles that will be converted into 24-hour emergency ambulances fitted with oxygen cylinders & first aid kits
- Serving up to 58,800+ patients needing urgent care throughout its estimated useful life
- Training ambulance drivers in providing emergency care
- Reaching the underserved and remote provinces and villages
- Ensuring 100% of your donations will be directly spent on the cause
Human Relief Mission (HRM), a UK-registered charity led by Dr Salman Momin, provides the much-needed emergency ambulance service using its 45 active ambulances. In 2021, approximately 33,173 patients were treated on the scene or transported to the nearest hospital. These two new vehicles will be an addition to their existing fleet.

Every donation you make, no matter the size, will help us reach more patients and means that we can help reduce preventable deaths in war-torn Afghanistan.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Mushtaq
