WHO ARE WE?
We are a small NGO from Spain that is working since 2007 in Malawi (Southeast region of Africa). Currently, we have more than 50 members and we are working in around 2-3 projects each year. The projects range from building a school to helping with medical equipment on hospitals.

Somos una pequeña ONG española que trabaja desde 2007 en Malawi (región Sureste de África). Actualmente contamos con mas de 50 socios y trabajamos en unos 2-3 proyectos cada año. Los proyectos van desde la construcción de un colegio hasta ayudar a los hospitales con equipamiento médico.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our compromise is to dedicate all the money raised to the projects. NOTHING is spent in travelling to the country, salaries, administration costs or campaigns. 100% of what we raise goes to the country directly or in the form of an ambulance, solar panels, powdered milk for kids…

WHY MALAWI?
Malawi is one of the poorest countries worldwide, average person lives with less than $1 per day. They have numerous people with HIV or malaria. During the rainy season the number of people with malaria and many other illnesses related to mosquitos grows significantly.
¿POR QUÉ MALAWI?
Malawi es uno de los países más pobres a nivel mundial, de media, una persona vive con menos de 1$ al día. Tienen un número importante de personas con malaria o VIH. Durante la época de lluvias el número de personas con malaria y otras muchas enfermedades relacionadas con los mosquitos crece de forma significativa.

WHY AN AMBULANCE?
In the Mtengo Wa-Nthenga Hospital, with whom we are working, there is only one ambulance for more than 50,000 people in an area of more than 500 km². The Carmelite Missionaires that manage the hospital need the ambulance so that can bring the patiences they can not attend, to the Lionlongwe General Hospital.
¿POR QUÉ UNA AMBULANCIA?
En el hospital de Mthengo Wa-Nthenga, con los que estamos trabajando, solo hay una ambulancia para mas de 50.000 personas y un área de más de 500 km². Las Carmelitas Misioneras que llevan el hospital necesitan la ambulancia para llevar a los pacientes que no pueden atender al Lilongwe General Hospital, el equivalente a un hospital de la sanidad pública.
ABOUT THE WORK IN THE HOSPITAL
The hospital where the ambulance is going to operate is located in Mthengo Wa-Nthenga, near Lilongwe, the main city. The hospital was built more than 30 years ago and is currently one of the main hospitals of the district. The hospital has many facilities, however, it needs the ambulance for emergency situations, for instance premature births, traffic accident victims…

El hospital en el que la ambulancia va a funcionar se sitúa en Mthengo Wa-Nthenga, cerca de Lilongwe, la capital. El hospital se construyó hace ya más de 30 años y actualmente es el hospital de referencia en el distrito. El hospital tienen muchos servicios, pero, necesita la ambulancia para situaciones de emergencia, para partos prematuras, víctimas de accidentes de tráfico…
OUR ACHIEVEMENTS TILL TODAY
We have built a huge house for women near another hospital in which more than a 100 woman are learning to cook, sew, read and write. We have built part of a school in Kapiri and Benga (East Malawi). We have bought an X-Ray machine for the hospital. We have been making a campaign to get powdered milk for kids the last 5 years. Many others can be seen on the webpage or you can contact us.

Hemos construido un casa para mujeres cerca del hospital donde más de 100 mujeres están aprendiendo a cocinar, coser, escribir y leer. Hemos construido parte del colegio en Kapiri y Benga (zonas al Este del país). Hemos comprado una máquina rayos-X para el hospital. Hemos realizado una campaña de recogida de leche en polvo para bebés los últimos 5 años. Todos los demás proyectos figuran en la página web o podéis contactar con nosotros.
OUR ASK
We need $ 49,000 for buying an ambulance and deliver it to Malawi. With the help received through here and the money raised from the members we hope to achieve the goal in the first quarter of next year. All the money will go directly for the ambulance purchase.
¿QUÉ PEDIMOS?
Necesitamos $ 49.000 para comprar la ambulancia y llevarla a Malawi. Con la ayuda recibida y el dinero recaudado por los socios esperamos conseguir el logro en los primeros tres meses del año próximo. Todo el dinero recaudado se destinará a la compra de la ambulancia.
THE IMPACT
Once the ambulance arrives to Malawi the Carmelite Missionaries will be able to save women from dying because of premature births, car accident victims will be given a faster assistance, old people who aren’t able to move will be assisted at home, and many more.
EL IMPACTO
Una vez que la ambulancia llegue a Malawi, las Misioneras Carmelitas podrán salvar a mujeres y niños de morir en partos prematuros, las víctimas de accidentes de tráfico recibirán ayuda más rápido, se asistirá a los ancianos que no pueden desplazarse de sus chozas, y muchos más.
