Hello Friends, Family and Supporters,
 
Amber Slaven is a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and most importantly a fighter! Two years ago today, Friday November 8, 2019, following a routine mammogram, Amber was diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Negative Grade 3 breast cancer. Although one of the rarer more aggressive forms, there was great optimism at the time that treatment would lead to a complete cure. After enduring everything that modern medicine can throw at her (scores of chemotherapy infusions, over 40 radiotherapy sessions, 6 surgeries (including a double mastectomy), sepsis, 12 admissions and over 50 nights in hospital), Amber was told a few months ago that she is has Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that’s now in her lungs. She is currently undergoing palliative chemo and immunotherapy to extend life expectancy. The treatment is brutal and frequently postponed due to the effects. Her medical team has expressed concern that this could be Amber’s last Christmas.
 
For Amber, there is no more important time of the year than Christmas. She lives almost every day looking forward to it. For her, it’s a magical time of happiness that brings families and loved ones together. This year, Christmas takes on a different significance. We have developed this Go Fund Me for Amber in the hope of making Amber’s dearest Christmas wish of going back home to Scotland to celebrate this special day with her mother, family and friends a reality.
 
Donations from the Go Fund Me will go to the medical resources needed for Amber's travel and immediate family travel expenses. Her wish is for her family to be in Scotland with her.  We will use the funds to help accommodate Amber, her husband and two sons.
 
If you know Amber, you know the spirited, wonderful, giving person she is. She is greatly loved, and is so undeserving of a situation for someone so special. She has borne her illness with strength, courage, determination and positivity and has been an inspiration to others. We know we have set a target that reaches for the skies, which is where we have to take Amber to realize her wish. We are Amber’s heroes and we all will work together to make this happen.
