Amaris's NY Media Camp fundraiser
I'm Amaris Manning, a 16 year old junior currently attending Parkway High School in Philadelphia,PA. My career goal since the age of 10 has been to become a New York Times #1 International Best-Selling Author and an award winning film director and now I have a once in a lifetime opportunity to begin pursuing my career goals by attending the National Youth Leadership Forum on Digital Media, Film & Journalism, an Envision program in partnership with the prestigious New York Film Academy to be held in New York City at Manhattan College :July 6-12, 2016. I am raising funds to help pay for the tuition costs of $2,695 and travel expenses. My tuition deadline is fast approaching, my final payment is due by June 1,2016. I am determined to fulfill my destiny in life regardless of any challenges I face. As a survivor of four cardiac surgeries since the age of 8 weeks and surviving cardiac arrest at 8yrs old, I know that the Lord has destined me to be victorious in life and achieve greatness. I work diligently towards positive change in my life and my community. I was inducted into the National Jr Honor Society on Nov. 3,2013 and continue to pursue academic excellence. I currently serve as a Junior Class Officer, and a member of my school's Robotics team and book club. I am also a member of the organization Teenshop, founded by Ms. Eleanor Jean Hendley in 1985, for the empowerment of girls with goals. I was recently awarded Teen of the Month by my chapter of Teenshop for my leadership skills and willingness to help my community. I also won 1st place in Teenshop's 2016 National Women's History Essay Competition. I have triumpantly overcome so many obstacles thus far in my life and I will not let the lack of funds deter me from achieving this goal of attending the NYLF program this July. Please consider making a financial donation to help me raise enough money to attend this Leadership Form which will allow me the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in directing, videography with HD video cameras, and post production by creating my own short movie at the New York Film Academy, as well as interact with communications professors, leading journalists, producers and media figures, while networking with other motivated students from around the country who will be my future colleagues. Your contribution and support would be greatly appreciated. This is an opportunity to make an investment in someone that's sure to produce a great return. Thank you in advance and may God bless you ~
