I’m here to ask for your help in a moment I never thought I would experience again, and to tell you something about my family.

On November 17th, 2025, a devastating flood hit the small village of Versa, a hamlet of Romans d’Isonzo in the province of Gorizia. Within just a few hours, from the early light of dawn, the entire village was submerged under more than 1.60 meters of water and mud.

The house I grew up in was completely flooded. A lifetime of memories and sacrifices was wiped out in a matter of hours. The 1998 flood had already destroyed my family’s dreams, and we never imagined we would relive such a nightmare.

My parents still live there. On that November 17th, they were taken by surprise, with no warning from the authorities, despite clear signs of a serious risk. They found themselves fighting against the water pouring in from every direction, without time to save almost anything.

Anyone who knows my parents knows they have never given up. They have never asked anyone for help. They have always rolled up their sleeves, working hard to get back on their feet, no matter the difficulty. And I’m sure they will do the same this time.

But this time, I want to try to give them a little extra support. In addition to the physical work of clearing the house of mud and debris, I would like to try to raise some financial help, even a small amount, to deal with immediate expenses and begin rebuilding what the water destroyed.

Every contribution, even the smallest, can make a difference.

Sono qui per chiedere il tuo aiuto in un momento che mai avrei pensato di rivivere e per raccontarti qualcosa della mia famiglia.

Il 17 novembre 2025 una terribile alluvione ha colpito il piccolo paesino di Versa, frazione di Romans d’Isonzo in provincia di Gorizia. Nel giro di poche ore, dalle prime luci dell’alba, l’intero paese è stato sommerso da oltre 1,60 metri di acqua e fango.

La casa in cui sono cresciuto è finita completamente sott’acqua. Una vita intera di ricordi e sacrifici è stata spazzata via in poche ore. L’alluvione del ’98 aveva già distrutto i sogni della mia famiglia, e mai avremmo pensato di rivivere un incubo simile.

I miei genitori vivono ancora lì. Quel 17 novembre sono stati colti di sorpresa, senza alcun preavviso da parte delle autorità, nonostante ci fossero segnali evidenti di un rischio così grave. Si sono trovati a combattere contro l’acqua che entrava da ogni parte, senza il tempo di salvare quasi nulla.

Chi conosce i miei genitori sa che non si sono mai arresi. Non hanno mai chiesto aiuto a nessuno. Si sono sempre rimboccati le maniche, lavorando sodo per rialzarsi, qualunque fosse la difficoltà. E sono certo che faranno così anche questa volta.

Ma questa volta vorrei provare a dare loro un sostegno in più. Oltre al lavoro fisico per liberare la casa dal fango e dai detriti, desidero tentare di raccogliere un aiuto economico, anche piccolo, per affrontare le spese immediate e iniziare a ricostruire ciò che l’acqua ha distrutto.

Ogni contributo, anche il più piccolo, può fare la differenza.

Grazie di cuore a chi vorrà aiutare o anche solo condividere questa storia. Insieme possiamo dare un po’ di speranza a chi, ancora una volta, deve ricominciare da zero.
