Help Allie With Her Brachial Plexus Surgery

I am starting this GoFundMe to help the most dear person in my life, my little sister Allie.

In August 2021, Allie was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident caused by a vehicle that failed to yield. Unfortunately, the motorcycle driver, who was also Allie’s boyfriend, died on the scene. She suffered a serious traumatic brain injury, as well as multiple bone fractures, broken bones and a serious brachial plexus injury on her right arm. After spending 2 months in an induced coma, she spent the next 4 months attending endless doctor appointments and physical therapy classes.

Last week, we found out that even though she has had a miraculous recovery so far, her right arm would be requiring additional surgery. Her Brachial Plexus injury is showing slow recovery signs and is currently paralyzed. With the help of an advanced nerve reconstruction surgery and additional physical therapy, she could get a lot of her movement back. However, this operation is extremely time sensitive and is very expensive. After discussing further with various hospitals, we found out that the medical costs in the US would be impossible to meet. Including the Medicaid and the insurance money from the accident, getting the surgery in the US would require an additional $250k+ (not including after care costs). Therefore, we will be sending Allie to a clinic down in Guadalajara, Mexico that specializes with Brachial Plexus surgeries.

Allie is currently in very good spirit and is continuing to put all her trust in God and those around her. She has small victories every single day and is looking forward to the day she can re-enroll in her college classes (2 classes away from her associates). If you have met my sister, you know that she is the craziest out of all of us. She is adventurous and funny. She makes friends with every person in the room.  She is also the baby, only 22 years old. $15k would be enough for her to receive this surgery and cover all the aftercare costs she would need in order to have a more normal life after this tragedy.
