All Wheels Up Fundraiser

Tax deductible
All Wheels Up is the only organization in the world advocating for Wheelchair Accessible Air Travel and crash testing Wheelchairs for Commercial Flight.

Traveling on an Airplane with a Wheelchair is incredibly unsafe and impossible for the millions of the people around the world who use a Wheelchair. You are separated from your chair and subjected to possible injury and physical harm when you are transferred to your seat on the airplane.

Many do not fly because of bad experiences and stories they have heard from others. Wheelchairs get damaged often and even sent to the wrong airport costing Airlines millions in repairs.

We have an entire blog article dedicated to showing how difficult it is for a wheelchair user to travel on airplanes. Our solution is allowing people to fly on airplanes from the safety of their wheelchair!

All Wheels Up is working to make this a reality by proving wheelchairs on airplanes can meet every FAA Safety Requirement. We are raising $25,000 to fund for crash testing EZ-Lock Wheelchair Restraints at an FAA Crash Test Center. These restraints are already used in accessible cars.

We have already conducted some preliminary tests thanks to the amazing people at Calspan and have everything ready for the next level of testing the EZ Lock Restraints. Once we have our results, we will share them with Congress, Airlines, Airplane Manufacturers, and the Department of Transportation.

We created the following video to demonstrate how we hope wheelchairs can be used on airplanes in the future. Essentially the airplane seat can be moved aside like on accessible public buses and the wheelchair is locked down using restraints.

We know Accessible Airplanes will allow Airlines to reach an untapped market of millions of customers and that it will dramatically increase the profits of the entire Travel industry.

There are currently 4 million wheelchair users in the USA and growing according to the latest census data and Adults with Disabilities spend $17 billion on travel annually. There are another 4 million in the EU and millions more in the developing world. Combined with a dramatically growing elderly population, Accessible Planes can bring in a travel revolution.

We hope to unlock the world of Air Travel to everybody with a physical disability and their families. It's been badly needed for too long and every other form of transportation is already accessible.

On our website , you can learn more about our organization and how our President Michele Erwin created All Wheels Up based on her own personal experience traveling with her disabled son.
