Kim Dietz-UCC Shooting Victim

Kim Dietz was a victim of the senseless murders at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon on Thursday, October 1.  Kim was in Snyder Hall in the adjacent classroom, and went to investigate the commotion (the police called it a "welfare check").  She confronted the gunman, was shot twice, and crawled back into her class to lock the door.

Kim's daughter, Shannon, is also a student at UCC, and thankfully was not harmed.  Shannon and Eric are grieving for Kim's loss and also the loss of all the victims.

Many state and federal agencies, as well as private enterprise and individuals, have been assisting the family, and the community has been very supportive.  Roseberg is a small community and everyone has been affected by this tragedy.

All of the money rasied here will go to Shannon's furthering education.  She wants to finish her studies at UCC then her degree from Southern Oregon University.
