In honour of Eva, a collective group of 20 ex-Alexandrans have decided to complete the Vhi Virtual Women’s Mini Marathon 2021 to raise well needed funds for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland (https://www.cfireland.ie/).
Participants include Rachel (Eva’s mommy), Danielle, Rosemary, Siobhan, Tara, Alex, Catherine, Dearbhla, Elaine, Gwen, Jill, Joanna, Joanne, Mary, Orla, Roisin, Sarah, Lucy, Clare and Zoe.
By way of background, Ireland has the highest rate of CF per capita in the world, with approximately 1,300 children and adults in Ireland living with the condition.
- About 34 new cases of cystic fibrosis in Ireland are diagnosed each year.
- Because of new born screening, most babies with CF should now be diagnosed quickly.
- Around 60% of the CF patient population in Ireland is aged 18 or older.
- The predicted median age of survival for a person with CF in Ireland is 45.
We would really appreciate any donations no matter how small for this wonderful cause.
Many Thanks,
Danielle & the Lovely Ladies x
