Battle Against Breast Cancer Alicia's Story

Donation protected
Hello and thank you for viewing our fundraiser! My daughter, Alicia, has spent this year battling a rare form of breast cancer. She discovered a lump during the third trimester of her pregnancy, and the day after Christmas, she received the news she had stage 3 metastatic breast cancer. She also tested positive for the BRCA 1 gene mutation, meaning her body cannot fight off toxins like a normal body. The gene mutation caused her cancer to be more aggressive, and life threatening. With the help of her husband, Hugo, and their three children, she fought against this disease and is now (prayerfully) cancer free! We all know hospital stays and testing is not cheap, and due to her medicaid share of cost not being met, Alicia is now responsible for the majority of the bills, including the medication she takes. Up until now, she has been able to somewhat keep up with help from family and friends, and medicaid, but now the financial responsibility falls solely on her family.

Her family of five was forced to give up their home early this year, and move into one bedroom at her in-laws house. They make it work, but it's very stressful with five of them cooped up in one room. Hugo has had to take a lot of time off of work to take Alicia to Dr appointments, and to care for her and the kids during her sickest days of chemo, which hurt their only source of income.

This past August, she underwent a double mastectomy, and is still facing many weeks of radiation. She will also be required to have a hysterectomy within the next five years due to the brca gene mutation.

God has shown himself in her family's struggles, and has been her solace during this trying time, but they still need help. Please pray for Alicia, Hugo, Isaac, Tristan and Samantha. If you can spare a few dollars to help with medical expenses, it would be appreciated, but our first and foremost request is prayers! Anything left over will go towards them finding a home of their own. A space where Alicia can continue to home school their children, a place they can grow their own food, and a place where Jesus always comes first! Thank you for reading, and please pray for my girl and her wonderful family! Also, please share this link to spread the word! God bless you all and have a great day!
