Alicia lost her battle with a PXA brain tumor on December 10, 2024 at the age of 37. To honor her life so steeped in education, learning and always giving back to others we have created this scholarship fund.
If you knew Alicia, then you know that education has always been one of the most important aspects of her life. A proud alumna of North Pocono High School, Alicia graduated in the top of her class and took various advanced and AP courses. Her involvement in extracurriculars included scorekeeper for the boys' varsity soccer team, and varsity basketball cheerleader plus numerous clubs.
After high school, Alicia went on to further her academic prowess at the University of Pittsburgh, earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Dance. Her passion for understanding the human mind was matched only by her love of movement and expression. Later, Alicia continued her studies at the University of Pittsburgh to earn a master's degree in Clinical Psychology. Her passion for psychology and mental health was reflected in her work as a transition counselor for the Pittsburgh Public School system, where she dedicated her professional life to supporting and guiding students.
It's with these and so many of the other ways that Alicia always gave back that we have decided to create this scholarship fund in her honor. From the monies donated we will gift an annual memorial scholarship to a deserving North Pocono student. We hope to increase our reach and fund a memorial scholarship at University of Pittsburgh (a minimum of $25K required) and to find a way to annually help a student from the Pittsburgh Public School system enrolled in the transitional counseling program.
If you would like to support this endeavor and help to keep Alicia's spirit of giving and selflessness alive, we would greatly appreciate any donation.
