Ali's Treatment!
Donation protected
My friend Ali is one of the strongest, most loving, and beautiful people I know, and has been committed to doing healing work for the past several years. Ali has been sober for 4 years, and has now made a life-changing decision to get treatment for an eating disorder that she has struggled with for most of her life.
Since Monday, March 18th, Ali has been attending Opal Food and Body Wisdom's partial hospitalization full-time therapeutic treatment program. Their recovery program focuses on intuitive eating, non-diet, and health at every size philosophies. And provides individual and family therapy, art and yoga therapy, DBT skills, nutrition counseling, and lots more to folks like Ali who struggle with life-threatening eating disorders.
This program will require her to take at least 3 months off of work, after which she will be able to step down to a lower level of care and return to working part time. In addition to covering the costs of her rent, food, and bills during her time off work, the cost of treatment will be $5,100 before the insurance kicks in and covers the rest of Ali's treatment, as well as any additional healthcare for the rest of the year. Without insurance, the program would cost $1100 per day, so $5,100 is comparatively a small amount to pay for the level of treatment she will be going through for the next several months.

Ali has already been talking about how committing to her own recovery will make her more of a resource to others who are also struggling with eating disorders, which is just one example of how much Ali loves, empathizes with, and cares for the people around her all the time. I'm so grateful for her friendship, love, and gifts that she shares with us on a regular basis, and I'm so happy for her to be able to access these resources that will make her life less of a daily struggle. I know that there are many other people who love Ali and would like to help support her recovery.
Our current goal is to raise $2,000 as soon as possible to go towards Ali’s rent, health & car insurance, gas, and other basic necessities while Ali is in treatment. Our next goal is to raise $5,100 to cover the deductible owed to Opal.
Ali deserves lots of love and support as she begins this important step in her healing journey, so I hope you will donate generously as you are able!
