Alfred (Al) Williams Sr End of Life Celebration Fundraiser
Donation protected
Raise a glass, preferably an Oldstyle, to the Man, The Myth, The Legend, The Heart and Soul of Pepi's Pub & Grill, Alfred (Al) Williams Sr., who passed peacefully, with family by his side, on March 21st 2025 at 7:05pm. Words cannot express the loss we feel for our Friend, Brother, Father, Cousin, Uncle AL. He was a once in a lifetime friend, honest, dedicated, loyal, funny, and caring. He did not deserve to be struck down by such an awful disease, Cancer.
Al began feeling ill around August 2024, complaining of abdominal pain. Doctors told him he had an infected gallbladder and was septic. They gave him IV antibiotics to cure the sepsis, and performed a robotic gallbladder surgery to remove the infected organ. because fo previous surgery, the gallbladder was not were is was supposed to be, and the robotic arms could not get to the organ, so the doctors left it in, adding a biliary drain to help drain the infection. A biopsy was taken from the liver at this time. He was told he would need another surgery and a colonoscopy. Then they delayed his surgery twice, until Al was told that he had Stage 4 liver cancer on March 6th, one day after he turned 72. Now while this diagnosis was accurate, it was not the entire story. Al and his entire family asked what happened to Stage 1-3 of the liver cancer....and this is where the misdiagnosis came in to place. Al actually had Adenocarcinoma of the Pancreas. Due to the aggressiveness of this type of Cancer, Al most likely went from Stage 1-Stage 4 in under 2 years. He had a liver biopsy done in February, during the gallbladder surgery, which confirmed he had Stage 4 Liver Cancer. The Pancreatic cancer had spread to the liver, kidney, stomach, gallbladder, and eventually his throat, taking away his voice.
Before Al passed, he did say he wanted a funeral at Marsh Meredith Funeral Home. Celebration of Life for Alfred is on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, with Viewing between 10am-11am, Service from 11am-12pm, and a Celebration of Life Party (per Al's wish) and fundraiser at Pepi's Pub & Grill to follow.
Due to Al being poorly misdiagnosed at the early stages of his disease, Al never had a proper timeline to set up his "end of life" arrangements. This GoFundMe is being set up to directly cover all funeral expenses to give Alfred a proper homecoming. These funds will cover Funeral Home Services provided by Marsh Meredith Funeral Home; Viewing, Service, Hall Rental, Urn, Casket, ME Expense, & Cremation - Totaling $7000
Any and every donation is greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small. To those that have already donated to Alfred, Thank you. Our previous gofundme paid for his rent and groceries while he was out of work. While he was too proud to ask for help, he absolutely appreciated everything, everyone did for him. We are here once again to ask for help for this wonderful man. If Al has ever made you delicious food, given you one of his beers or some gin, make you smile from a story or joke, made you blush or giggle from a compliment, we ask that you donate towards Al. Please help give him the wonderfully beautiful Homecoming he deserves. Thank you. Much Love.
