Borneo Conservation Expedition 2016
Donation protected
My name is Alex Drake. I am 17 years old and currently studying for my A-Levels at Stanwell School in South Wales. I have been offered the chance to travel to the Island of Borneo to conduct conservation work with a number of different goals. I will be working with Outlook Expeditions and my fellow classmates to aid the local people in developing their village in a sustainable manner. We will be renovating schools and community buildings to give the opportunity to local children to an education. This will be in the town of Tenom (See below). I will also be climbing the tallest peak in South East Asia, Mt. Kinabalu(See above) standing at a staggering 4095m tall. I will be staying in a jungle camp and learn all about the people who have called the forest home for centuries.
This amazing opportunity will not only give me an experience of a lifetime, but also aid the local people through renovating their village including the school buildings, where the children will be able to gain the education that they strongly desire.
To be able to take part I have to fundraise the costs of my expedition. This includes transport, supplies and camping costs. Any dontaion is greatly appriciated, every penny counts!
