Help My Sister Alexis Fight Cancer
Donation protected
My sister, Alexis Hernandez Abreu, is 47 years old, has 3 beautiful children (ages 10, 12, 14) and is courageously fighting fallopian cancer.
Alexis is a multi-talented musican and interpreter who is passionate about the healing power of music and artistic expression as a path to empowerment. Alexis has worked as a:
*Musician (international ethnic music on cello, Irish whistle, accordion, Celtic harp)
*Spanish interpreter
*Immigration law paralegal (helping reunite families from around the world)
*Historical tour guide
*Dancer & dance instructor
Alexis is a member of the Qawalangin Tribe (Aleut/Native Alaskan.) She is married and lives in Minneapolis, MN.
In May, 2017 she was diagnosed with stage 3 fallopian cancer. Since then Alexis has waged her best fight against an especially agressive cancer. After major surgery followed by 5 months of chemo, the cancer seemed to be in remission. But 4 months later it had returned and metastasized to her lymphatic system. After 6 more grueling months of a different chemo regimen, again it seemed to be beaten. But the cancer came back within 3 months. The new tumor was surgically removed, and she began radiation--but only two weeks into treatment, scans now show metastases to her liver and kidney. At this point she has exhausted all standard treatment but is determined to continue to fight this insidious cancer. She is now exploring clinical trials at the Mayo Clinic and other cancer research centers.
Please help Alexis in this fight
Alexis needs all her energy to battle this cancer. But the daily stress of financial instability is an extra burden which makes it impossible for her to focus only on her fight. Now more than ever she needs access to integrative therapies which are recommended by her doctors. These treatments are not covered by insurance and she can no longer afford them on her own. She will also have travel and lodging expenses when doctors determine the best clinical trial for her.
Please help me raise funds for Alexis. Your help can provide her with the best possible quality of life, and the peace of mind she needs to put forth her best fight.
