Alaya Mahmood, our beloved 2 year-old daughter, returned to her Creator after a short, sudden and unknown illness on the 29th October, 2023. We want to continue to build on the legacy of our incredible daughter, who enriched so many lives during her short time on this Earth.

Alaya loved the outdoors, and loved visiting playgrounds particularly, wherever we were and whatever the weather. We have therefore decided to fundraise on behalf of Cheadle Masjid and Community Centre (CMCC), who are building a playground for children in the wider community to benefit from. We would love to see the Cheadle Masjid and Community Centre Playground Project come to life, and to see other children, including our second daughter Hana, enjoy playing outdoors and having fun.

The playground will be constructed in the grounds of Cheadle Masjid and will be overseen by an experienced project team who have led the wider project over a number of years.

After a thorough selection process KOMPAN, a world leader in outdoor play, has been selected to provide a playground space. KOMPAN have been instructed to deliver this project from design through to installation. The playground has been developed from the ground up, with the layout and the play equipment providing children with varied play activities that will keep them stimulated, interested and ensure they want to keep coming back for more!

The very best materials will ensure the playground continues to be enjoyed for many years, with the majority of the equipment using recycled material and the sourcing of wood from sustainable forestry.
