Our Story

A Vision for Faith, Knowledge, and Community

Al Manar Learning Center was established with a simple yet powerful mission: to nurture faith, provide quality Islamic education, and serve as a hub for community development. What began as a small gathering of dedicated individuals has now grown into a thriving institution, serving Muslims of all ages in South Jersey.

Humble Beginnings

Our journey started with a small prayer space and a dream to create a place where families could come together to pray, learn, and grow. Recognizing the need for a strong educational foundation, we expanded our focus to include Qur’an classes, Islamic studies, and youth programs that instill Islamic values in the next generation.

Growth and Expansion

Alhamdulillah, with the support of our generous community, Al Manar Learning Center has flourished over the years. We have successfully completed:

✅ A dedicated prayer space for daily and Jumu’ah prayers.

✅ A robust weekend school offering Qur’an, Arabic, and Islamic studies.

✅ Youth programs and activities that keep our young generation engaged in a faith-centered environment.

✅ A growing community hub that provides lectures, workshops, and events for families.

The Future of Al Manar

Our work is far from over. As our community continues to grow, so does the need for expanded facilities and resources. We are actively working on:

Allah swt said:

إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۖ فَعَسَىٰ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنْ يَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ

"The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give zakah and do not fear except Allah, for it is expected that those will be of the [rightly] guided. (9:18)"

Prophet Mohammad PBUH said:

"مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا لِلَّهِ كَمَفْحَصِ قَطَاةٍ أَوْ أَصْغَرَ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ”

"Whoever builds a masjid for the sake of Allah Almighty, like a sparrow's nest or even smaller, Allah Almighty will build for him a house in Paradise."

Blackwood Muslim Community, located in New Jersey, is in the process of buying a building. We want to renovate it into a mosque and a learning center for our growing community. We are reaching out to our brothers and sisters for help to complete the purchase and renovation. This is our chance to build a mosque for our families to have a place for worship and celebration of the Islamic Holidays. This Project is to create a mosque and an Islamic learning center for the future of our kids. Our project foundation will teach the correct Islamic Knowledge based upon the Book of Allah (The Most High) and the authentic Sunnah of His Messenger Muhammad (sallaahu 'alayhi salalm).
