-Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah, Al-Hameed Boy's Academy was the first traditional Islamic School in the United States established in 1990 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The vision was to establish an institute to produce leaders of Islam in North America. Many boys born and raised in the USA became Huffaz and Ulema from the institute.
-In 2005, this institute was destroyed. Few years later, Al-Hameed was re-established in Garland, a suburb of Dallas, Texas, in the upstairs part of Masjid Yaseen.
-Alhamdulillah, presently, there are approximately 75 students memorizing the Quran and enrolled in the Scholar (Alimiyyah) Course. About fifty students have completed their tahfeezul Quran.
-There is a high demand and tremendous need in the metroplex area for these type of institutes. Al-Hameed is the only institute of this type where students are becoming scholars of Islam.
-However, there is not enough room upstairs to accommodate more students. There is a waiting list of young boys, unable to enroll for lack of space.
-Alhamdulillah, Allah has recently given the organization approximately 1.5 acre land behind the masjid. Insha'Allah the plans are to build a three story 18,000 square foot building connected to Masjid Yaseen.
-This new extension will be built on the existing parking lot, which means the current parking lot will need to be relocated. The total project cost is approximately 2.4 million dollars out of which about $125,000 have been raised.
-There is a dire need to complete this project by the beginning of Ramadan in order to expand the student enrollment.
-We humbly request you to open your hearts and contribute towards this noble Sadaqa Jaariya. These are our Future leaders of Islam in our country.
-May Allah bless all of you for your generous assistance!!!
