Chi sono e la mia storia:

Sono Flavia Capobianco, volontaria del Sud Italia. Da anni dedico ogni istante della mia vita al soccorso, recupero e cura di animali abbandonati, maltrattati e dimenticati. Per dare una forma concreta e ufficiale a questa battaglia, ho fondato l’associazione Street Dog.

Opero in una zona difficile, dove il randagismo è un’emergenza quotidiana e la cultura del benessere animale ancora fatica a radicarsi. In questi anni ho salvato animali da situazioni estreme e dolorose, strappandoli da condizioni che nessun essere vivente dovrebbe mai subire.

Spesso trovo animali legati a catena da anni, consumati dalla fame, con gli occhi spenti e il corpo segnato da ferite e abbandono, esseri che hanno perso ogni fiducia nell’essere umano. Per questo il mio obiettivo è restituire loro la dignità che meritano.

Perché ORA ho bisogno di Voi:

Da sempre e tutt’oggi, vivo con i miei cani in condizioni di grande difficoltà.

Attualmente in una casa in affitto priva di coperture adeguate e di spazi idonei al ricovero per i cani disabili e malati che necessitano di cure e protezione costanti.

La situazione è diventata insostenibile perché, una parte del Rifugio con vari animali, è dislocata su un terreno privo dei servizi essenziali come acqua ed elettricità. Ciò comporta un notevole aggravio fisico che trasforma le mie giornate in una corsa continua tra trasporto di taniche d’acqua, cibo, spostamenti incessanti e lavoro al buio.

Alcuni cani hanno gli arti paralizzati e si muovono con carrellini ma, il terreno irregolare rende ciò difficoltoso e insicuro privandoli anche di un minimo di autonomia.

Quando piove poi, la situazione peggiora ulteriormente, pietre e terreno fangoso rendono i movimenti difficili e faticosi. Non è solo un gravoso sforzo fisico ma, anche un peso psicologico costante per me e per loro.

Inoltre, a questi problemi logistici si è aggiunto che oggi siamo sotto sfratto e dobbiamo lasciare la casa. Dopo anni di ricerche e grazie ai sacrifici di mia madre che ha chiesto un mutuo, abbiamo acquistato un immobile isolato adatto a far nascere una realtà serena per tutti.

Ora però resta una grande urgenza. Dobbiamo rendere il nuovo rifugio funzionale e trasferirci il prima possibile, perché senza questo passaggio questi cani che, con tanta fatica ho curato e rieducato, rischiano di perdere l’equilibrio e la serenità conquistata dopo anni di lavoro.

Ho bisogno di aiuto economico per realizzare i lavori necessari a creare spazi recintati e sicuri, un’infermeria per i disabili e aree dedicate agli animali anziani, oltre a garantire all’associazione una proprietà sicura e stabile.

L’obiettivo è far crescere Street Dog come una realtà trasparente e aperta, un luogo dove chi vorrà, potrà collaborare, partecipare ad attività e avvicinarsi agli animali, imparando a conoscerli, rispettarli e superare la paura del contatto con loro.

Perché sostenermi?

Al Sud le istituzioni spesso sono assenti o chiedono compromessi che, non ho mai accettato e mai accetterò. Street dog vuole restare un progetto trasparente e indipendente. Qui trovano spazio gli invisibili, quelli che nessuno vuole, i casi clinici disperati e i vecchietti che meritano di morire su un cuscino morbido e non nel fango. Poi, essendo un’associazione, la tua donazione può essere detratta.

Who I am and my story:

My name is Flavia Capobianco, a volunteer from Southern Italy. For years I have dedicated every moment of my life to rescuing, recovering, and caring for abandoned, abused, and forgotten animals. To give this fight a concrete and official form, I founded the Street Dog association.

I work in a difficult area where stray animals are a daily emergency and where the culture of animal welfare still struggles to take root. Over the years I have saved animals from extreme and painful situations, pulling them out of conditions that no living being should ever have to endure.

I often find animals that have been chained for years, worn down by hunger, with dull eyes and bodies marked by wounds and neglect, beings that have lost all trust in human beings. My goal is to give them back the dignity they deserve.

Why I need your help NOW:

For a long time, and still today, I live with my dogs in very difficult conditions. I am currently in a rented house without proper shelter or suitable spaces to host disabled and sick dogs who need constant care and protection.

The situation has become unsustainable because part of the shelter, where several animals are kept, is located on land without essential services such as water and electricity. This creates a heavy physical burden and turns my days into a constant rush of carrying water containers, food, endless movement, and working in the dark.

Some dogs have paralyzed limbs and move with small carts, but the uneven ground makes this difficult and unsafe, taking away even a small degree of independence. When it rains, the situation becomes even worse. Stones and muddy ground make every movement hard and exhausting. It is not only a heavy physical effort but also a constant psychological weight for me and for them.

In addition to these logistical problems, we are now facing eviction and must leave the house. After years of searching, and thanks to the sacrifices of my mother who took out a mortgage, we bought an isolated property suitable for creating a peaceful reality for everyone.

However, there is now a major urgency. We must make the new shelter functional and move there as soon as possible. Without this step, these dogs, whom I have cared for and rehabilitated with so much effort, risk losing the balance and peace they gained after years of work.

I need financial help to carry out the necessary work to create fenced and safe spaces, an infirmary for disabled dogs, and dedicated areas for elderly animals, while also ensuring a stable and secure property for the association.

The goal is to grow Street Dog into a transparent and open reality, a place where people who wish to help can collaborate, take part in activities, and get close to animals, learning to understand them, respect them, and overcome the fear of contact with them.
