FYI: end of story looped to beginning. If you would like to know the rest of the story, please read it all the way through. Its informative! I had started walking a few times a week and then....BOOM! Up jumped the Devil and I had a sharp pain in my cheeks. Being a strong man and stubborn, I could get through it....yeah right. Three days later there was a golf ball sized growth/boil/abscess near my salad shooter, lol. At this point, all I can do is laugh because, believe me, I have wondered what I've done to deserve such bad luck with my backside! I was admitted to ER in Cando and the fine providers here lanced and drained the abscess. A few weeks go by and another gift was causing restless nights and unforgivable pain. Only this time the other one came back too!! So now I have 2 that need repair and I was feverish as well. They performed a blood culture and took lab blood from both arms and submitted the tissue sample from my rump roast :)(:...LOL.....I had sepsis!!! and bacteria everywhere. That was thoroughly taken care of with Rocephin shots and other antibiotics for a whole month. That brings us to the current issue. I had ANOTHER bump in the road. On April fools day of all days too, i cant make this stuff up. So after another fun day at the Doctor office it was suggested I see a specialist to hopefully cure the root cause and we don't have to keep meeting this way. That brings us to current day. I had surgery on April 28th to repair TWO anal fistulas and place a SETON in both. (its a drainage inducer, and i got TWO of them, I'm really packing heat now)ha. The recovery is harrowing and scary and obviously painful and very uncomfortable. I am following all commands so this doesn't happen again. With the good Lords will and word, I have faith that a successful recovery will be the outcome. It takes courage and work and a clear mind and balance of work and rest to defeat this beast!!! I write to you today humbly asking for your kind prayers, expressive thoughts, positive vibes and some monetary relief from my ails. I will continue to actively participate in my recovery and balance my career objectives and community involvement and efforts so together we can all do better. Your support and care are appreciated immensely. Thank You...

My health started declining in 2015. I was diagnosed with severe anemia(blood loss) and started receiving intravenous iron infusions. I also was administered blood transfusions on 3 seperate occasions. After further evaluation, it was concluded my chronic blood loss was immediately caused by a colon prolapse and exasperated hemorrhoids. I underwent a hemorrhoidectomy and followed up with iron infusions as needed. A few years later the blood was not clotting and it was a recurring nightmare. My medical providers at Towner County Medical Center and myself researched and sought out a highly-recommended colon/rectal surgeon in ND. The bleeding was now from internal piles and scar tissue that became irritated and detached and massive internal hemorrhages! So, somewhat reluctantly, (because of the excruciating pain and severe complications and recovery time of this surgery), I had ANOTHER hemorrhoidectomy!! That was March of 2019. It seemed i had found a reprieve from my debilitating medical issues. I was bound and determined to now focus on my physical and mental health. I started making positive choices in my diet and mixed in occasional cardiovascular exercise to shed a few pounds. My hemoglobin remained subdued and red blood cells still not to acceptable levels. Having anemia makes you completely exhausted and extremely difficult to complete daily tasks that most healthy people dont think twice about, maintain a job so you can live a somewhat normal life and keep up with payments and rent and just life all while trying to better myself. But, I strive to not burden anyone with my problems and kept trudging onward.
This brings us to the Autumn of 2020 and I was very pale, faint and overall my body was crying for help. TCMC admitted me for further analysis and I was in complete renal failure and my bilirubin was so elevated my eyes were yellow. It was a sad sight. Bloated and sick. I made the conscious and spiritual decision to cease all alcoholic beverages immediately. I was admitted at Sanford as they ran test upon test and along with the care and compassion from TCMC staff, they saved my life. I had been given a true 2nd chance to get life correct. There was a lot of soul-searching and an emotional show of support from my groups of Family, Friends and Faith. I could write about this for hours on end... That was 10/22/2020. On January 21, 2021 I had lost nearly 80 pounds and was settling into my routine of self care, one way was by drinking nothing but water and sometimes coffee, starting EVERY morning with water and yogurt or oatmeal and eating bran and fruits for breakfast then healthy, mineral rich foods and proteins throughout the day and making sure last food was in mouth before 8pm. My kidneys were functioning "optimally" and my bilirubin levels are within parameters, liver had no more scarring. The lab reports of my turnaround in 3 months were phenomenal! I had started walking a few times a week and then....BOOM! Up jumped the Devil and I had a sharp pain in my cheeks. Being a strong man and stubborn, I could get through it....yeah right.
