Afro Glory Needs Your Support...

Hi Everyone!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my GoFundMe page!

My name is Shahira (everyone calls me Shari) I am a graduate Graphic Designer from West Yorkshire currently living in London.

I am trying to raise money to fund my business venture; Afro Glory! As a young black woman I want to inspire the next generation of young black girls and boys to grow up loving themselves and completely reaching for their dreams... just as I am always encougared to by the people in my life who love me ❤️

I want more than anything to be a black entrepuner and black business owner in the U.K... I have been told so many times in my life that I would be limited. Limited by my skin colour, limited by my gender... but never limited edition!

In 2014 I was attacked in my home town just months after returning home from completing my Masters Degree and begining my career. The attackers broke my leg which resulted in 2 surgerys and a long recovery. After the attack I no longer felt safe in my home town so I moved away. I was driven out of my home town by anxiety and depression. I was looking to escape...

I spent 3 years recovering physically and then mentally... but I am ready now to catch up on lost time and progress my career. Whilst I progess I want to empower and encourage young black people in the UK to do the same! I want to be able to say in a years time... look what I built, you can do it too!

I need to raise some capital to get off of my feet. I will be using the money to fund my first set of prints, packaging and postage. I will be using the money raised from this to go back into the business and keep developing and growing.

I don't come from a large family, it's just my mum, my brother and me so I don't have the family backing most people might... so I turn to you the generous public to help me achieve my dreams. If I am able to finance my business with your help then I will be on my way to becoming a role model for young black people like me!

I am ready to start building my business. I have chosen the equiptment I need and began setting up social media for my business please feel free to check it out:

Afro Glory Instagram
Afro Glory Facebook
Afro Glory Twitter

(I am also in the process of setting up an Etsy account to sell my design work)

I want you to know I am being proactive in building my business even without the finances I need so here is my blog and my online portfolio so you can follow all that I am getting up to:

Afro Glory Portfolio

This really means the world to me. I have always been an ambitious person and this is my chance to do something positive with my life in order to encourage younger generations (of all skin tones) to be proactive, determined and NEVER give up on themselves!

Thank you so much for reading!
