Help Me Fight Leukemia Again
In October 2017, my world was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. I spent the next six months in the hospital undergoing intensive treatment, and after a long battle, I made it into remission. For six years, I held on to hope, grateful every day to have survived.
But a few months ago, I started noticing strange symptoms—easy bruising and random blood blisters in my mouth. At first, I thought it was just stress or age catching up with me. I had just lost my father and best friend unexpectedly in December, and the grief was overwhelming. But when the symptoms continued, I went to Henry Mayo to get checked out. They transferred me to Valley Presbyterian, where I received the heartbreaking news: the leukemia was back.
I was eventually transferred to City of Hope, where I’ve been for the past three weeks receiving chemotherapy. I’m fighting with everything I have, but this second battle has brought new challenges. I haven’t been able to work, and I’m struggling to keep up with rent, utilities, and the basic costs of living.
I also haven’t been able to care for Molly, my sweet emotional support dog who was by my side during my first fight with cancer. She’s safe with my aunt for now, but I miss her dearly. She gave me strength and unconditional love, and I know she’s missing me too.
I’m doing my best to stay positive and focused on healing, but I’ll be honest—it’s hard. The financial stress makes it even harder to concentrate on getting better.
If you’re able to donate, any amount would mean the world to me. If you can’t donate, I completely understand—and I’d be so grateful if you could share this page and keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for reading my story and standing with me during this time.
