Hello everyone. So these past few years have been quite rough for me. Being away at school while my mother is home battling multiple sclerosis has taken a toll on my family and me in many more ways than one. Though this is a battle she has been fighting since before I was born, the disease has suddenly been rapidly progressing since I’ve started college.

Studying abroad has always been a dream of mine. I just knew at a young age that when I got to college I would be away from the states for a summer or even a full semester.
After weeks of being waitlisted, I was awarded the chance to study in London and a partial scholarship for the trip in May. I was disappointed to find out that the Contemporary British Media course was cancelled later due to lack of attendance confirmations. -__-
However, a professor suggested I should apply for a 10-day international journalism course in Prague beginning mid summer.
Not only was I accepted, but got selected to intern upon the ending of the course until my fall semester begins! With your help, I will be working for Transitions Online, an Internet news magazine covering Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and the former Soviet Union. The experience resembles an international newsroom and by the end, I will have a stable collection of news clips and press write ups to use to gain further employment.
Unlike the London course I was previously accepted into, this one is not held through the a university and this means I won’t be able to receive any scholarships.
Because I found out about the trip so late, the deadline is approaching much more quickly than expected; March the 20th, to be exact.
Between my mother’s medical bills, physical therapy bills, handicap house renovation bills, and my rising school tuition, funding this trip is not easy.
The money raised here will go towards tuition for the course, accommodation, and transportation.
Any donation amount is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
