First ISTD Ballet School in Nigeria: Support Above Ballet Academy's Transformative Mission.

Above Ballet Academy is Nigeria's first-ever ISTD ballet training academy, dedicated to nurturing the talent of our nation's children and youths in classical ballet. Headed by the pioneering Ayomi Tsalu who is the first ISTD-certified ballet teacher in Nigeria, the academy is set to train and present about 30 students for graded examinations by the ISTD in its first year.

But with an annual fee (tuition and examinations) set at a greatly discounted £300 and 1 Pound being equal to about 1500 Nigerian Naira, there are only so many people that can afford to train no matter how passionate they are about ballet. We believe that affordability greatly impacts accessibility.

Our mission is to provide accessible, world-class ballet instruction to students from all backgrounds, living in Nigeria. And through our work, we hope to equip our students with the technical mastery and artistic expression required to excel on the global stage.

With no government funding available for dance, we hope to secure a studio facility before our resumption in June and provide scholarships for talented students in need.
