Aboriginals Come to US!

Donation protected
We're not going "to" Australia, Australia is coming to us! We are looking forward to entering into ministry with our Aboriginal friends! The event will be a campaign this summer to raise money for the US-Australia missions event THIS summer.  Your donation can help make it possible!

In 2009, we became part of a group of Black Scholars and Professionals who traveled to Australia to serve and partner with an Aboriginal church right outside of Sydney.  The long-term relationship that developed resulted in several return trips and a decision by the  Aboriginal group to come to visit their friends in the US! The project was a true "boomerang."

Here is the mission in our own words:

Mission:
We had the awesome privilege in 2009 of traveling to Australia for an overseas mission with a group called Black Scholars and Professionals, a ministry sponsored through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.  We were hosted by some of the most beautiful Aboriginal people at Mt. Druitt Indigenous Church in a suburb of Sydney.  Partnering with Pastor Rick Manton, his family, and other Indigenous ministry leaders, we were invited to share culture, learn about the history of the Aboriginal people, and to serve alongside them as they addressed the various practical and spiritual needs of their beloved community.  We have gone "Down Under" 3 times total, and we are  excited to be a part of a team that will now host the Aboriginal family as they travel to the United States for the first time.  During their 3 week stay in July 2017, they will share their history and culture, minister and learn African American history and culture in multiple cities. We have teams in each city that will return the hospitality that we have been shown when we went there. You can absolutely be a part of that by sharing your donation.

We could use your help!
Would you consider financially partnering with us so that this lovely family can come minister to us, learn African American history, experience a warm reception AND have many of their expenses covered?  They would not have the ability to come without us. All support is tax-deductible and will go towards their international and domestic travel, accommodations, and other incidentals related to the mission project. Don't allow these supposed "Forgotten People" be forgotten!

Vision:
We love international mission work, and we've had a vision of that ministry being reciprocal .  On July 1, 2017, this will become a reality as several members of the Mt. Druitt Indigenous Church will follow “The Path of a Boomerang” in coming to the USA to minister to us!  This theme is significant as the boomerang is iconic in traditional Indigenous Aboriginal culture and history.  They're going to trace the flight path of a returning boomerang by traveling to the other side of the earth and coming to us!  They are  going on the mission field and nurturing our partnership with the Mt. Druitt Indigenous Church, this time on US soil.  This mission has had a profound impact on us personally, and we are  willing to go the distance in support so that we can love and care for our Aborignal brothers and sisters as they did with us three separate times! Won't you help us by sharing your generous gifts of time, money and in-kind gifts?

We'd be eternally grateful!
