Help Abdelkareem’s family survive in Gaza

During the 20 months of brutal war, Abdelkareem, his wife Rawan and their 1-year daughter Layan were displaced several times, they lost two brothers, a father and their house was damaged. These GoFundMe donations have been a life-saver for them.
‘I am now buying our supplies of food, water and hygiene products thanks to your donations and generosity during these very difficult months’ says Abdelkareem. He continues ‘I don’t know how I will be able to get an income and support the future of my family without my job and my equipment’.
Abdelkareem is a talented photographer. He and his late brother had done their first joint photo exhibition just before the war. Abdelkareem used to have a few contracts also with international organisations in Gaza who needed good communication material.
“When we fled our home, I had to leave my camera behind. It felt like leaving part of me. But at least my family was alive, that mattered the most.”
You can see some of his work here:
Despite losing his photography equipment, he preserved his passion and talent, as well as his eagerness to document Gaza's path to reconstruction and resilience of its citizens. All he has left, are old memories captured with his camera prior to the war, of a world that no longer exists.
Following the breakdown of the frail ceasefire, the situation across Gaza is hellish. Humanitarian aid hasn’t entered Gaza in two months, so food is hard to find and prices have skyrocketed. A bag of flour (25KG) can cost up to 600 dollars. Evacuation orders have pushed Abdelkareem and his family in and out of their home, always fearing for their life.
This fundraiser will help Abdelkareem and his family stay alive, allowing them to purchase some of the most basic needs including water, food, baby diapers, etc.
