Ashlyn's Battle with Leukemia
Donation protected
Our sister is one of the most amazing and kind women you could ever know and we were all caught of guard when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (a rare blood cancer). She received this life altering and devastating news 2 months after giving birth to her first child Jordan. This was after weeks of feeling sick and being in and out of the hospital. Within days she had to be admitted into the hospital for 30 days to jump start her chemo treatment. The cancer had taken over 90 percent of her blood by the time she was admitted for treatment. Being removed from her two month old baby girl took bravery, strength and courage that could come only from the Lord. Despite the tragedy of the situation Ashlyn chose to put her trust, hope and life in the hands of Jesus and to believe for a miraculous healing. She decided to let the world into her journey and allow others to see first had, the Lord move in her life. She made the decision to let her cancer meet her jesus (which started the #CancerMeetMyJesus hashtag). Friends, family members, strangers, believers and non believers all started to join in her on this journey. They continue to witness the strong, the weak and the encouraging moments of dealing with cancer. And they have watch as the Lord continues to show his love and faithfulness.
Although Ashlyn is in remission, per doctors, she will still have to undergo chemo treatment for the next couple of years. Due to the side effects of chemotherapy and her compromised immune system she is unable to continue to work as a preschool teacher during this time. Because he has to care for Ashlyn and Baby Jordy her husband Justin no longer has the opportunity to supplement their income. This has caused a significant hit to their income and finances. With the added cost of cancer treatments and a new baby many people suggested the Family start this GoFundMe page.
The funds raised will be going towards medical bills and expenses including the cost of chemotherapy, as well as utilities and housing expenses. The funds will also go to help with some care taking expenses for Ashlyn's Mom Cheryl who is the primary care giver for both Ashlyn and Jordan while Justin works. We pray you are able to assist our sister and her family in their time of tremendous need. It's easy to sit back and watch a sinking ship and not ask for help. But the Lord promised our sister that she will witness the miraculous through this experience and to not stress about the little details of it.
The Bible instructs us to ask and it shall be given unto you, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be open. God dresses the flower of the fields and feeds the birds in the sky. We know he will cover Justin and Ashlyn's finances as they stand firm and reveal his healing power through this testimony. May all who give be blessed a 100 times over! Any amount will be a blessing.
Thank you.
God Bless
