VandenHeuvel Family Fire Relief

Donation protected
Aaron and Liz moved here in July 2016 from Vail, they had visited Steamboat several times and wanted to raise Aspen (their 19mo old) in its family friendly community. Aaron first got the offer from OSP then Liz found her job at YVMC, she is the Office Coordinator of Pain Management. Aaron and Liz work full time and Aspen is enrolled at Grand Kid’s Daycare and also Steamboat Kids Play Garden (They absolutely love them both and can’t speak highly enough of them!!)

This was the first two bedroom unit they have ever been able to afford, and Aspen’s first bedroom. Unfortunately they are losing the majority of their things to the fire, they were able to salvage some clothes and dishes, but everything else was heavily smoke damaged. Due the carcinogenic nature of the plastic smoke the fire restoration team suggested they don’t try to save much. Their landlord decided to basically gut the house the day after the fire, so they had to save what they could over the weekend and will not be able to return to the house for an indefinite period of time. He told them he will likely sell the house once finished, so they are really not expecting to go back at all. Aaron and Liz are working to recover from this and pursue their long time dream of owning their first home here in the Yampa Valley.
