After nearly 9 years, I was left with nothing but my dog and unpaid bills. Now I’m fighting to survive alone.

Hi, I’m Danielle — a disabled woman and small business owner. For nearly nine years, I shared my life with someone I trusted. Then, with no warning, I was suddenly discarded for another woman — left completely alone to survive without support or a backup plan.

In March, I had $10,000 from my SSDI settlement to try to purchase a home — a chance at stability after years of struggling, but my partner left their job and I was the only one paying rent and bills. That savings was used, trying to keep us and everything else together.

Now I’m trying to survive on a fixed monthly disability check that doesn’t even cover my rent. I have no savings left. No support system. No help. Just bills I can’t pay and the weight of trying to rebuild from nothing.

I created Momma B’s Biscuits, a handmade dog treat business, to help with expenses 2 years ago. Now it is my only source of additional income for bills and rent. I sell at Saturday market by myself now, no matter how hard it gets, but I’ve fallen behind on vendor fees and can no longer sell until I catch up. My only additional source of income is gone.

To make things harder, my PTSD service animal, Waffles — my reason to get up in the morning and survive — is aging and has ongoing health issues. She’s been getting sick more often, and I can’t afford basic vet care. Without help, I can’t even take care of her properly.
