Help AWW survive COVID - Round 2
Well, here we are again.
Due to Dudley being placed in Tier 3 as of Wednesday 2nd December, we have made the difficult decision to close The AWW Wrestling Academy throughout December. Having also been closed throughout the majority of November due to the national lockdown, this has put another strain on the AWW Academy's future.

Alternative Wrestling World was established in 2003 in Birmingham and since that time we have provided West Midlands wrestling fans with 100's of top quality shows. In 2011 we created the AWW Wrestling Academy, a permanently set up wrestling school to help train the next generation of wrestling stars.
We have trained 100's of wrestlers, some of whom have gone onto international success. In January 2019 we moved to new premises, which was twice the size of the old unit. Obviously with the rent also increasing. The AWW Wrestling Academy now boasts a 16ft ring, crash mats, 16sqft matted area, treadmill, weights, TRX's, exercise bike, vibration plate, cross trainer, kettle bells. Everything you need to stay fit and healthy, whilst also learning the art of pro wrestling. Due to the recent Covid-19 outbreak we have had to cancel all of our upcoming shows, as well as closing the school. The entertainment and hospitality industy has been hit hard by this pandemic. The shows and training work hand in hand, without one, we don't have the other.
We currently run 3 training session a week, and without this money coming in, as a small not for profit outfit, we are going to find it impossible to pay the rent, and other outgoings like electricity, MOT/insurance on the van, water rates, unit insurance and service charges. As it currently stands it look like we are going to be closed for 1 month, but that could easily change to 2 or even 3 months. So we're putting this out, to make sure that AWW doesn't have to shut up shop permanently.
