Appalachian Trail Triple Crown Hike
Donation protected
Over thirty-five years ago I went for my first overnight backpacking trip. That hike was on the Appalachian Trail along the Tennessee/North Carolina border. After years of outdoor adventures, including thru hikes of the Pacific Crest and Continental Divide Trails, I come full circle by hiking the entire AT in 2016.
I am planning on taking around 120 days to hike the 2190 miles of the trail. I am excited about the possibility of completing the Triple Crown of long distance hiking on my “home trail”.
Hiking is a therapeutic venture for me, and thru hiking has become a way of life. It tests me physically, mentally, and spiritually. The wilderness supplies me with an avenue for getting in touch with what’s important to me.
I plan to start in early March and so I need to fund my adventure by then. Your support will help me with acquiring the gear and food needed during the hike and expenses for travel to and from the trail.
I offer my heartfelt thanks to you for any support you may be able to give. I hope to keep up with you all via Facebook and through The Mountain Shop's blog.
