Albuera St Primary Chess Team

We are William, Minh, Benjamin, Tom, Santi, Teddy, Louie and Jikei, who have represented Albuera St Primary at interschool chess tournaments over the course of 2024.

Together we have won the 2024 Tasmanian Interschool Chess Championships, one of the most prestigious interschool tournaments in the state. This gives our team the opportunity to represent Tasmania at the National Chess Interschool Finals. We are the first Albuera St team in the tournament’s long history to qualify and win the state championship. It is truly one of the highlights of our time playing chess.

We are looking at making it to the 2-day tournament in Perth, WA, on December 7th and 8th. For us to represent our school and the entire state, along with a few parent volunteers to accompany us, we are looking for our community’s help and support - every donation will help us get to the championships.
