ASPIN ACADEMY SHELTER

Donation protected
https://youtu.be/XQ4P5TrmDtgOn October 3, 2019, an idea came up to me to create a Facebook page that will tell the story of the dogs that I have rescued and adopted.

More likely, just a documentary of the dogs who of no high-breed---ASPIN or ASong PINoy.

When I started publishing the page: ASPIN ACADEMY, I received tons of messages requesting to rescue this and that dog from all over the Philippines.

I was saddened by the fact that there are thousands of cases of animal cruelty in the Philippines such as abandonment, neglect, abuse, and dog meat-trade.

From then on, I started rescuing and ASPIN ACADEMY simply becomes a home for the rescued dogs and cats too.

However, the house that I was renting out at that time became small as the number of the rescued animals increased. So, I decided to look for a bigger place.

I was full of hope I could build a simple dog sanctuary in Barangay Lumil, Silang, Cavite. I had all the plans and designs. But those were senseless. Not even a month of staying in the new place, we were being thrown out. The landlord even cut out the connection of water and electricity leaving us helpless at that time. I called for help. But instead of helping us, some Filipinos chose to bash us. My children are also traumatized by that incident.

Yet, we choose to fight.

With the little number of donations received, we moved to a new place to another barangay in Silang, Cavite which is Pulong Bunga. We cannot afford to look for a farther place than in Cavite as the community quarantine was heightened at that time. Because we have no source of electricity and water in Lumil, it's a gamble we moved to Pulong Bunga. Thinking that everything would be alright but we were wrong. Another issue came up. The neighborhood was complaining about the dogs. Though the matter was settled, the owner of the place we were renting out threw us out too.

That's where I decided to better go somewhere far. Cavite has been very cruel to us so we decided to transfer to Batangas.

Prior to moving to Batangas, we make sure that the neighborhood and the barangay staff will allow us to rent out the place which they agreed.

Unfortunately, just a week of staying, complaints started to arrive. The Barangay Chairwoman even told us this:

"kung alam ko lang wala palang breed mga aso niyo, di ko kayo papayagan makalipat dito eh..."
(if only I knew that your dogs have no breed, I will not allow you to transfer here)

What she said broke my heart.

Discrimination to our own breed-ASPIN. To think that we are all in the Philippines and that the Chairwoman is a Filipino. While my children are not pure Filipino and yet my kids are the ones taking care of the no-breed-dog according to the Chairwoman.

We supposed to leave on February 10, 2021, because that's the date the barangay people demanded us to leave the area in Batangas.

No problem moving again to a new place. Like the children and the rescued dogs and cats, we are used to of moving from one place to another in a span of just one year.

Our problem is the FUNDS.

I am asking every kind-hearted person to help us raise funds so we can have a better place for our rescued dogs and cats.

A shelter for the ASPIN and PUSPIN.
