Support Vic's Documentary on Artsakh Genocide

Hello All,

Amid genocides and massacres worldwide, my documentary film sheds light on a recent genocide and attempts to be a vessel to stop the ongoing cultural genocide. But I need your support to realize the final stage of this critical project, so please give me a couple of minutes of your time.

Allow me to introduce myself briefly. I’m an Armenian-American journalist, radio host, and documentary filmmaker. I am also an activist who has devoted the last five years of my life and career to advocating for Armenia and the Armenian people as we go through the worst period in our history since the Armenian Genocide.

I spent a year and a half making a documentary film, Motherland, about the Artsakh Genocide. I interviewed and featured seven leading members of Congress. Motherland was an ‘Official Selection’ at 82 international film festivals and won 40 awards. Knights and Daughters of Vartan produced a congressional screening in DC, so the film was a smashing success.

However, I must update the film to reflect the realities surrounding Artsakh and Armenia. A key organization in Washington, DC, has requested to screen it four times during their convention in July. I also plan to re-release the documentary to educate critical people, such as lawmakers, journalists, and other stakeholders. I finished it when Armenians still had 10% of Artsakh, and Azerbaijan had not completed the genocide yet. The changes include Azerbaijan’s nine-month blockade starting on December 12, 2022, the 2023 siege and forced displacement of 120,000 Armenians, the finality of the Artsakh Genocide, and the current state of upwards of 300 Armenian hostages being kept illegally in Azerbaijan.

I must revise the film soon, rename it ARTSAKH: Armenian Genocide Continues, and do a new campaign so the world can see the horrors perpetrated on the Armenian people again. But post-production, which includes editing, color correction, sound mixing, closed-captioning, and formatting, is very costly.

It will take one month to revise the film. I’ve already raised $7,000 of the $15,000 that we need. But I must do this fast, as I’ve committed to delivering the revised film to DC by July 1. I plan to resubmit the movie to film festivals again and send screeners to members of Congress, the UN, the EU, the CoE, and human rights organizations.
