Support Divanga Hostel and Families in Taganga

My name is Lucie, I hope you are safe and all your family and friends. I am a French woman living for more than twenty years in a fishing village, a site of great interest for diving on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, Taganga. I created and run a high quality hostel and restaurant there: Divanga Hostel.

Socially responsible and certified in sustainable tourism, my establishment has generated the employment and survival of many families in Taganga.  Divanga Hostel is also fighting for the environment, I am dedicating a big part of my time in legal actions to protect Taganga and surroundings.

Today without resources due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I cannot meet the costs. For this reason, every person who counts on me for their survival, lives deprived of the basics after four months of lack. The emergency measures began on March 23, 2020, when our activity ceased. Now more than four months without income.

This team of native inhabitants allowed Divanga Hostel to be number 1 in travel guides, referenced in Lonely Planet, rated by the booking engines. Moreover, we hope to offer the friendly, safe and unforgettable service again soon, but we need your solidarity as soon as possible to overcome the crisis.

The months of August, September and October are missing before the borders in Colombia are fully reopened and the flow of international tourism from which we obtain our income resumes. 

With your help, these people will be able to eat, forget about the daily anxiety of knowing how to feed their children and families who are in the same situation of absolute lack of solution, they will also be able to pay their basic expenses and have the private health system In Colombia.

On the other hand, your contribution, the smallest one, will allow me to keep the site in good condition because I have no means for basic maintenance, but my workforce, which I provide to the maximum with the help of my daughter Lola. She will start studying again soon for agronom ingenieur with the university online and we also need to pay the tuition.

The estimated budget of 3.900 euros corresponds to the monetary support that will be given to each person who depended on the hostel in what they need to sustain themselves for the next two months; plus the costs of maintaining the hostel and paying for water and energy, essential.

As an additional benefit, your donation will entitle you to a travel voucher of equal value, that you can use when you come to Taganga, Colombia. This voucher valid for accommodation and food at Divanga Hostel, is transferable to anyone of your choice and with no time limit for its use.

Saludos desde Taganga, Colombia

Mi nombre es Lucie, espero que estés a salvo y toda tu familia y amigos. Soy una francesa viviendo durante más de veinte años en un pueblo de pescadores, sitio de gran interés para el buceo en la costa caribeña de Colombia, Taganga. Creé y dirijo un hostal y restaurante de alta calidad allí: Divanga Hostel.

Socialmente responsable y certificado en turismo sostenible, mi establecimiento ha generado el empleo y la supervivencia de muchas familias de Taganga. Divanga Hostel también está luchando por el medio ambiente, estoy dedicando gran parte de mi tiempo en acciones legales para proteger a Taganga y sus alrededores.

Hoy sin recursos debido a la pandemia de Covid-19, no puedo suplir los gastos. Por esto, toda persona que cuenta conmigo para su supervivencia, vive privada de lo básico después de cuatro meses de carencia. Las medidas de emergencia comenzaron el 23 de marzo de 2020, cuando cesó nuestra actividad. Significa mas de cuatro meses sin ningunos ingresos.

Este equipo de habitantes nativos, permitió que Divanga Hostel fuera el número 1 en guías de viaje, referenciado en Lonely Planet, calificado por los motores de reserva. Y esperamos empezar a ofrecer nuevamente pronto el servicio amable, seguro e inolvidable, pero necesitamos su solidaridad lo más pronto posible para superar la crisis.

Faltan los meses de agosto, septiembre y octubre antes de que se vuelvan a abrir plenamente las fronteras en Colombia y se reanude el flujo del turismo internacional del cual obtenemos nuestros ingresos.

Con su ayuda, estas personas podrán comer, olvidarse de la ansiedad diaria de saber cómo alimentar a sus hijos y familias que se encuentran en la misma situación de absoluta falta de solución, podrán también pagar sus gastos básicos y contar con el sistema de salud privado en Colombia.

Por otro lado, tu contribución, la más pequeña que sea, me permitirá mantener el sitio en buenas condiciones porque no tengo medios para el mantenimiento básico, sino mi fuerza de trabajo, que proporciono al máximo con la ayuda de mi hija Lola. Pronto volverá a estudiar nuevamente para ingeniera agrónoma con la universidad en línea y también tenemos que pagar la matrícula.

El presupuesto estimado en 3.900 euros corresponde al apoyo monetario que se le dará a cada persona que dependía del hostal en lo que necesite para mantenerse los próximos dos meses; más los gastos de mantenimiento del hostal y pago del agua y de la energía, imprescindibles.
