Another very successful concert with three fantastic musicians. We were lucky to have Amber Sun and Haolin Zhao to contribute and extremely fortunate to have the pianist Mark Kinkaid, who has accompanied contestants for the BBC Young Musician of the Year many times, to support us. Again, this concert is in aid of The Amber Trust.

Amber played, Eugène Ysaÿe’s Caprice d'après l'Etude en forme de valse de Saint-Saëns, the piece was arranged by the most famous Belgian violinist and composer Eugène Ysaÿe, whose other works include an opera and chamber works.
Haolin played Mélodie (Dance of the Blessed Spirits) from the Italian and later re-arranged into French, opera Orfeo ed Euridice composed by Gluck. It is one of the most gorgeous melodies in all of opera, and first performed in Vienna in 1762.

I played Bach’s Partita No 3 Gavotte en Rondeau which is a playful and lively piece based on a leaping French dance rhythm or Rondo style. It’s the most recognised piece among the other movements and was written circa 1720.

Please review our performances via the link below and I hope you enjoy.

On behave of the Amber Trust, I sincerely thank you for all your support and encouragement.

Thank you all for your support, in our very successful, small, house concert in aid of The Amber Trust held a few days before I returned to school.

My sincere thanks to my friends Alex Clay - cellist and Alvaro Sisti – pianist, who provided their valuable time to come to my house to make this happen.

We played ‘The Trout’, by Schubert; the piece came by its unique nickname due to the fourth movement being a set of variations on his earlier ‘Lied Die Forelle’ (The Trout). It’s written for violin, viola, cello, double bass and piano, but nevertheless, the sound is still beautiful with only our trio of violin, cello and piano. My next one will be a true Quintet!

Alex played Shostakovich’s Cello Sonata Op 40 in D minor, with the piece composed during a period of emotional turmoil in composer’s life in the early 1930’s

The jazz piece, ‘It Ain’t Necessarily So’ is coming from Gershwin’s opera Porgy and Bess (1935), which was a very popular song with the lyrics written by his brother Ira Gershwin – one of my favourites.

Finally, Alvaro finished our performance by playing Beethoven’s Sonata Op 53 1st Movement amazingly.

I hope you all enjoy

On behalf of The Amber Trust, your support is greatly appreciated as always. Stay safe till we meet next time

My sincere thanks again to all of you who have taken the time to visit my fundraising page and are continuing to support me and The Amber Trust.

It has been a very hectic summer for me after attending the masterclass in Spain and joining the National Youth Music Theatre orchestra as a lead violinist for a production of “Chess the Musical” by Benny Andersson, Tim Rice and Björn Ulvaeus, at the Curve Theatre, Leicester – this was such an amazing experience ! Last week, I was invited to play violin at a fund raising concert held in central London, finally I’m arranging a small home concert to try and boost the funds for The Amber Trust. The music will be shared online once it’s uploaded.

Of course, and if at all possible, The Amber Trust and I would greatly appreciate it if you could continue your support for us in helping bring music to visually impaired children.

Thank you

My sincere thanks again to all of you who have taken the time to visit my fundraising page.

Since the Charity Concert last December, I have been in touch with the local shopping centre during February and arranged for a stall to be setup promoting the Amber Trust and although the weather was chilly we managed to raise £150 for them.

In May, I attended the Trusts Annual Concert where I had the opportunity to actually met many of the other student supporters.

Some other Amber Trust highlights :-

11 year old Chapman was born visually impaired due to a rare genetic disorder. He self-taught how to play "It's a Small World" on a toy piano after visiting Disneyland when he was little. His musical talent was discovered by his parents when he was about 5 as he could sing with a perfect pitch. Chapman has progressed well over the last six years, and now the Amber Trust is supporting his music study.

10 year old Lily loss her sight due to a pre-natal haemorrhage which put pressure on her optic nerve and caused it to atrophy, the haemorrhage also prevented her from using one of her hands and caused her feet to tremble. My heart fell when she came to me wanting to learn violin, I wished I could help but she could not hold the instrument as one of her hands was too weak but she is now learning the harp and singing.

11 year old Eleanor has an inoperable brain tumour, which has caused her to become severely visually impaired. She is almost constantly on one treatment or another which can have horrible side effects and must attend regular hospital visits and undergo tests to monitor her ongoing health since she was first diagnosed when she was over 3. Despite these, she has an angel’s voice, she sings beautifully. You can also hear her voice when she is recording a children’s program, she is as ‘Lark’ in the award wining animation on Channel 5’s children’s program ‘Milkshake’.

These children are facing many, serious challenges in their lives and require constant care but all of them have one thing in common - they love music !

So, I would greatly appreciate it, if you could continue to help me to help them to maintain their musical journey - your contributions to this cause means so much to me.

My sincere thanks to all of you who have taken time to visit my fundraising page.

Recently, I started introducing younger children into the world of music through a community project led by my school. I found this to be very rewarding and enjoyable, opening my eyes to the abundant musical talent in all of them. This got me thinking. How else can I help children experience the joys of music? Through the Amber Trust, blind and partially sighted children have the chance to experience a thrill that they may yearn for after listening to it but can struggle without the right help.

The Amber trust supports these children who very often have acute hearing and talent. Through my own musical journey, I realised how satisfying it can be and the massive impact on your life. I want to share this joy with other young children but many of these young children need funding for instruments and music lessons. Your donations will provide them the opportunity to excel and make a better world for them.

I would be greatly appreciated if you could help me to achieve this goal and your contribution to this cause means so much to me.

Thank you for supporting “December Charity Concert” for fundraising!
