Shorefront documentary project

THANK YOU ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THIS CAMPAIGN. WE HAVE SURPASSED OUR GOAL. Donations were received thorugh Gofundme and via mail. Stay tuned for the final finished documentary in the coming month!!

Educator, Alderman, and Evanston’s first African American Mayor, Lorraine Hairston Morton served the community for over 50 years, guided by a simple statement her father had passed down to her nearly half a century ago — “. . . only a life of service, is a life worthwhile”.

“A Life Worthwhile” is a new film by Shorefront Films, documenting and honoring the many accomplishments of Lorraine H. Morton. Using her own words and archival images, she shares her life's journey from Winston Salem, NC to Evanston, IL. Her amazing journey is illustrated with historic photos, video clips and interviews detailing her guiding principles and her unique way in navigating the societal constructs through Jim Crow, desegregation and governmental relationships. Truly “A Life Worthwhile”.

The film is nearly completed. While the production house, Digital Café, is assembling the elements, Shorefront is offering a way for the community to show support of the life of Lorraine H. Morton. We are just a few thousand dollars off of our budget goal and we need your support. Shorefront's goal is to reach $3,000 by the end of February 2018,  to meet our total $26,000 budget.

We hope to have 30 contributors at $100 each and your support will not go unnoticed.  As a “Thank You” for the $100 donation your name will appear in the final credits of the finished film as a “Community Supporter” and each will receive a copy of the final DVD.  This is a limited opportunity as we will end the campaign on the last day of February to finalize the film. Of course, any amount will be welcomed!
