Hi, my name is Chris Barker. 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with an incurable kidney disease. It would just be a matter of time until I was in complete kidney failure and would need a transplant. After 5 long years of being on dialysis, I received my kidney transplant on Oct 26, 2023. My recovery is going very well, and I am grateful for the donor, the medical team, and support from my family and friends who stood by me in receiving this second chance in life. I am now facing the new reality of post transplant challenges.

With this healing and recovery process comes enormous expenses with post-transplant care. These expenses include co-pays for life long medicines, hospital bills that are not covered by insurances, post op doctor visits and home care. Fuel cost alone going to and from doctors appointments almost every day will be at least $500+ a month!
