AJ Hagin Expense Fund
Donation protected
My son's name is Aaron James (AJ) Hagin and he is 3 years old. He was diagnosed with a heart condition: Dialated Cardio Myopathy (a form of Heart Failure). He is curently at the Egleston Children's Hospital (Emory) in Atlanta, GA. We are from Savannah, GA and are miles from home.
AJ has had a history of illnesses dating to the first four months of his life, with multiple infections due to ingesting most of his amniotic fluid at birth. He was given two adult doses of Rocephin as a newborn to combat his first illness, and seemed to bounce back and thrive going forward. But somehow his heart was permanently damaged by a viral infection within that first year, and his body is just now showing that damage.
AJ is my only child, and I cannot have any more due to a hysterectomy I underwent in 2014. By God's grace I was able to give birth to a full-term, wonderful boy even though I was told I could never even have children. He is my miracle baby. I love AJ very much and would do anything in the world for him. I have not left his side and have barely slept or eaten. I constantly pray for some small miracle for him.
AJ has been placed on the A1 (the highest and most at risk) Heart Transplant List. We are curently awaiting a heart. He is on Milrinone (a heart medication) just to keep his heart pumping, and will have to remain here at Egleston until the transplant can take place. Our Insurance for AJ will cover his mecdical expenses, and the Heart Transplant however, it will not cover the other expenses that go along with this tramatic event. Expenses such as: Food, Gas, Hotel Accomendations (after AJ's Heart Transplant) and while we are up here waiting on the Heart Transplant. After the transplant, and he is released from the Hospital; AJ will still have to travel back and forth from Savannah, Ga to Atlanta, Ga to go to Egleston for his checkup/obersavtions for the first year. This will be very expensive for us.
I am a stay-at-home mom, while my husband works full time to provide our sole income. It is very difficult to pay for the expenses when my husband is not able to work as much when we are trying to be here for AJ in the hospital until the transplant is complete. We are barely scrapping by as it is with the little money we do have, whatever he makes has to go to our bills back home. Right now, my husband is having to juggle supporting our family financially and being with us at the hospital. That is why we are trying to raise money to help with these expenses that are accumulating during this tramatic time in our lives. Any monetary amount of dontions would be such a blessing for us.
Thank you so much for reading, caring, and sharing our story. God bless everyone.
