Send Atlanta Irish Music School to Ireland!
Members of the Atlanta Junior Ceili Band (AJCB) hope to travel to Ireland in August 2017 to compete in the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, a huge festival and music competition. Not many kids in the US spend time on evenings and weekends to learn traditional Irish music. These kids have spent 100s of hours, years of hard work and practice to have this opportunity. Your support will mean so much to them!!
This opportunity is the culmination of months of hard work and practice as they compete against fellow musicians, singers and dancers from around the world.
The Ceili Band won 1st out of five bands in the Under 18 division (beating Chicago, St. Louis, etc) at the Midwest Fleadh in St. Louis to qualify for the All Ireland Fleadh! Also, our Grupa Cheoil won first place and our Atlanta students won over 20 medals in solo/ duet/ trio competitions. A total of 15 students competed and many of these will be traveling to Ireland with their families to represent the USA and Atlanta!!!!.

We would like to use funds to help offset the cost of famlies traveling to Ireland to compete. Many kids will attend a traditional Irish Music school (Scoil Éigse) in the week leading up to the competition. They will take classes from master teachers from all over the world honing their craft. Our GOAL is huge, but any amount is appreciated and will be HUGE to the next generation of traditional Irish musicians. Please contribute and share in your social media network!!
Thank you so much! Go raibh maith agat!
