AFTER DARK: Expressive Art Film to inspire HOPE!

I am Laura Sanchez, expressive artist, flamenco dancer and creator, and I would like to introduce you to AFTER DARK; an expressive art short-film created during Covid-19 that combines flamenco with poetry, visual art, drama and creative expression.

This is the story of a woman, mother, immigrant and trauma survivor who, in the experience of losing herself during quarantine, found hope in the little things of life. AFTER DARK was created to inspire hope and to bring awareness about mental health and the importance of the ARTS to emotionally survive these difficult times. 

AFTER DARK is an artistic representation of Expressive Flamenco , an emerging expressive arts practice I have been developing the past few years, and the tool that helped me transform my struggles into this piece of art during quarantine. 

Co-Directed by International Choreographer Belén Maya, AFTER DARK has been Officially Selected by different Film Festival  in the United States and Europe and has been nominated for three awards winning "Best Dance on Camera" at Independent Short Film Awards in Los Ángeles!

I have reached to a point where I need your help to continue presenting this work.

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED

The funds of this campaign are meant to recruit the professional talent to finish editing the film , pay the cost asociaste to post- production, promotion, and film festivals to continue presenting AFTER DARK in new expressive arts platforms. This campaign is the door to bring to light years of experimental work in a form of this short film.

Hola! Yo soy Laura Sánchez, artista expresiva, bailarina de flamenco y creadora y os presento el proyecto que está manteniendo mi alma viva durante COVID-19;  AFTER DARK,  un cortometraje artístico que combina flamenco, arte visual, poesía, drama y movimiento expresivo.

Este corto es sobre mi historia de resiliencia como mujer, madre y artista y se creó para traer esperanza en tiempos difíciles así como crear conciencia sobre salud mental y la importancia de las artes para sobrevivir emocionalmente a la difícil situación que estamos viviendo. 

AFTER DARK es la representación artística de  Expressive Flamenco, modalidad de danza terapéutica que llevo desarrollando los últimos años que se convirtió en mi herramienta para transformar mis agonías en esta pieza de arte y así sobrevivir emocionalmente la cuarentena. 

AFTER DARK esta co-dirigido por Belén Maya, artista y coreógrafa reconocida a nivel mundial y ha sido seleccionado por varios Festivales de Cine de Estados Unidos y Europa y ha sido nominado a tres premios ganando como mejor "Baile en Cámara" en el Festival Internacional de Los Ángeles con posible retransmisión en un teatro de Hollywood, California!

He llegado a un punto en el que necesito vuestra ayuda para poder seguir adelante con este trabajo experimental.

DISTRIBUCIÓN de FONDOS

Los fondos recaudados irán destinados a contratar el talento profesional que nos ayude a terminar de editar el cortometraje así cómo pagar los costes de post- producción, promoción y festivales para poder seguir presentar AFTER DARK a otros festivales y plataformas artísticas. Esta campaña es la puerta para poder dar a la LUZ el trabajo experimental de los últimos años en forma de este cortometraje.
