High school students from AFE (Alternative Family Education) in Santa Cruz are on a quest to turn their Shakespeare studies into an unforgettable real-world experience! This semester, they've been diving deep into the world of theater, and now they have a chance to see their learning come alive at the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland this May!
What's on the agenda?
• Watching four professional productions of diverse and compelling plays:
"Julius Caesar" by William Shakespeare
"Fat Ham" by James Ijames (a contemporary twist on Hamlet)
"August Wilson's Jitney"
"The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde
• Participating in interactive workshops to enhance their understanding and appreciation of theater and dramatic arts
