ACC+AmyKids-Together Changing Lives

Angel City Chorale traveled to Cape Town, South Africa in the summer of 2011 to perform benefit concerts for what was then known as the Amy Biehl Foundation. The Foundation was created by the Biehl family after their beloved daughter Amy was murdered in 1993 amidst the turbulent times of change in South Africa. The response to this tragedy was to create a foundation to serve the vulnerable children in Cape Town. The Amy Foundation provides a safe environment in the challenged township communities of Cape Town, emphasizing the development of emotionally well-rounded youth who make positive life choices and become contributing members of society. The motto of the AMY FOUNDATION is "Together Changing Lives.

We did not realize that this motto also applied to us.
No one in our group could have prepared for the impact the children, the Amy Foundation, or the experience would have on us. We bonded not only through the music, but through a shared vision. The origins of the Amy Foundation focus on the need for people from disparate backgrounds, people who appear to be in conflict, to work together for a common good. What better way to bring people together than by sharing music?

This is where we need YOUR help. To celebrate ACC's 25th Anniversary, we will be bringing members of the Amy Youth Choir  to perform with us for our Spring Anniversary concert, ONE WORLD MANY VOICES II. We are fundraising the entirety of the costs to get these kids and chaperones to Los Angeles for 10 days that we hope will give them the kinds of life changing experience they gave us in 2011. We have raised a substantial amount of the money already, but we still need $10,000.

Please take a moment to watch this video, of the Amy Foundation Choir and ACC singing "All You Need Is Love" through a virtual concert.

If you can give up your morning coffee, your afternoon snack, or your after work drink, we greatly appreciate your consideration and donation.

Then, come celebrate with Angel City Chorale and the Amy Kids Youth Choir at our concert June 2nd and 3rd!
