CSUN ABSN Cohort 15 Graduation
Donation protected
We are a class of 29 nursing students. We are just months away from receiving our hard earned Bachelors of Science in Nursing degrees. As individuals, we each have a unique story that brought us to this point. As a group, what we share is a victory over the struggle to succeed as nursing students, driven by our passion for the profession and for the careers that await us. We are part of the future of nursing, and we are here to make a difference.
When we cross the finish line this December 2015, we hope to commemorate the moment with a celebration representative of the perseverance and commitment required to earn a BSN in an accelerated program. Our wish is to hold a ceremony that will commemorate not only our achievements, but also the tradition of bestowing special recognition to nursing school graduates instituted by Florence Nightengale. Unfortunately, in part due to the budget constraints of our public university system, there is no funding for a graduation celebration available to us this year.
We have each examined our own resources, however most, if not all of us, are already facing a mountain of debt. We are reaching out to our community of family, friends of the family, friends, friends of friends, and nursing colleagues to stand in solidarity with us in creating a celebration that will properly memorialize this exceptional and unparalleled moment in our lives. Any amount contributed is greatly appreciated by this dedicated group of future RNs! Thank you for helping us to honor ourselves, and the past, present and future of the field of nursing!
