Ariel's Archaeology Excursion

Ciao, mio amici e famiglia!
My lovely friends and family, I need your help!

I have been accepted to an amazing archaeological excavation in Naples, Italy near Mount Vesuvius! To the south of this volcano is Pompeii and to the southwest is Herculaneum - but I will be excavating to the northwest, in Pollena Trocchia, an area that has been archaeologically overlooked until this project. 

This is a once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity, but I can't do it alone! I am working to raise money for the tuition, airfare, and living expenses while I am on this month-long archaeological journey. I greatly appreciate any contribution you can make, and your help means the world to me! Please feel free to share this page as well :) I can't wait to tell you all about our significant finds when I get back!

Digging Deeper: 
The Roman villa complex and bathhouse we are investigating were buried by a volcanic eruption in 472 A.D.! This eruption has given us a fascinating opportunity to investigate an incredibly preserved site! Not only have human remains been found here, but even carbonized leaves that help us paint a clearer picture of the past.
