Steven, A heart too big

It all started with a headache. Steven knew that it wasn't right, and so we went to the doctor....
This is my best friend and has been for a very long time in my life. He is the most caring person I've ever known, and I want to help save his life...
(The following is the message I received from Kim, his wife, as well as most updates. I'm just helping them out.)
It all started with a headache. Steven knew that it wasn't right, and so we went to the doctor. We learned that his blood pressure was 200/130! Well, going to the doctor led to tests, and he was sent to a wonderful cardiologist. The cardiologist looked at his blood tests and listened to what was thought by the family doctor, and sent him to many more tests. Well, to shorten that story, we have learned after extensive tests, including a double heart catheter, that his heart is 5 times larger than it is supposed to be, with a 99% blockage. His heart is "tougher than Arnold Schwarzenegger, and that's not a good thing." The doctor and his colleagues all agreed, they had never seen a heart this tough or large. Three times is already critical.
The surgeries required are at least a double bypass and a defibrillator, as well as a very dangerous one. They will have to cut off sections of his heart to bring the size down. Until after the surgeries, Steven is at risk of "dropping over dead at any moment." The cardiologist told us, for this surgery, on this special case, we need the best for this type of procedure.... He is sending us to the Mayo clinic in Minnesota.

Asking for help is not easy. This couple doesn't tend to ask for anything.
Steven has been out of work for two months, and will likely be out at least one more. His wife, Kim, has taken a lot of time off to be with him, and will be off of work at least one more month as well. Any donations given here will go to the normal bills they have and are unable to cover at this time, including groceries, car payments, rent, ...etc. as well as the medical bills they are accruing as we move along through all the tests, procedures and surgeries. As Steven and his wife have already been taking time off, what they get now will be extremely helpful in all situations immediately. They don't know how much will be needed in the long run, and this is just an estimate. I will change the goal as medical bills start coming in and we get a more accurate amount. Any ways that can be helped, would be greatly appreciated.
